Life of a Lady Bear FAQ (1)

Why did you start blogging?

I started my blog when I was in my final year of studying Biomedical Science. In the middle of all of the studying and exams I really wanted to find a fun creative outlet which is when Life of a Lady Bear was born! When I first started it took me a while to figure out what my blog would be about until I spent that Summer in NYC, I really feel thats when my blog came into its own! What’s more inspiring than the New York right? I think the main reason I started the blog was because although I was studying science, I really wanted to start a career in Business and Lifestyle so this blog gave me a great platform to teach myself about Social Media and Digital Marketing along with many other things that helped me get to where I am today!

What kind of camera and lenses do you use?

I use a Nikon D3200 for my main DSLR with a 50mm f1.8 lens. I also use the Sony Alpha 500 for some of my shots (mostly when I’m in a restaurant and I’m too embarrassed to get all blogger-y and whip out the big DSLR!)

What do you use to create your collages?

I use Photoshop for most blog collages, but Canva and PicMonkey are good alternatives that are also free!

How did you think of the name Life of a Lady Bear?

Anyone that knows me going back several years knows that the word “Bear” is my thing! As silly as it sounds, everyone I love is a Bear. My Mom is Mama Bear, My Dad is Papa Bear and my friends are all bears aswell! So thats where it started and then I knew I wanted to be a Life and Style blog so thats where the Life came from and then it the rest just rolled off the tongue!

What are your 3 wardrobe staples?

If you haven’t already noticed, I wear quite a lot of black! My  wardrobe 3 staples would be black pointy boots, a pair of nice quality leather pants and a nice trench coat! You cant go to wrong with those pieces!

Why did you move to New York?

I moved to New York to try and get experience working with brands that I knew I would never get the opportunity to work with at home! Luckily I have an American Passport and when the opportunity came up to move here with my boyfriend Cathal after finishing grad school, I said YOLO and hopped on a plane! A few weeks later I started working as the Social Media Producer for MTV and currently work as the Social Producer at Teen Vogue.
