I quite literally don’t even know where to start writing this post. As many of you will know from my Snapchat (Michaelabear1) and Instagram, I was lucky enough to spend last week in LA for the VMA’s with work. I had never been to the West Coast before so I couldn’t believe it when my boss told me I was going with the team, especially as I’m only starting out with the company! We were put up in a beautiful hotel right beside the venue and spent the days working in a nearby tent.
Honestly it was a week filled with lots of work and long hours but the days were broken up with visits to the stage and time with celebrities to grab content for MTV’s social media sites. I swear there were so many occasions where I needed to pinch myself, like when I was alone in an elevator with Macklemore or watching rehearsals on the big stage before the show. Even though the days were a little long, we had so many fun things to do in the evening time. The first night we were there we went to a Covergirl party in Hollywood where there was a panel of celebs including Nicole Richie, Tory Kelly and Katy Perry’s makeup artist all talking about the latest trends in beauty. The afterparty was probably one of my highlights of the trip, there was lots of free makeup and yummy cocktails to go with the prettiest event I’ve ever been too. The next night we went to a Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato concert that was just unbelievable…I have a new found love for Nick (and his big arms!)
The night of the show was crazy hectic and exciting all at once, there were so many occasions where I thought my heart would just stop, like when Taylor walked out with her girl squad! So many of my girl crushes all in the same place at once! The only chance I got to do a little sight seeing was my last night where I visited Rodeo Drive and had dinner at Lisa Vanderpumps restaurant Villa Blanca! It was lovely to see a different part of LA and makes me excited to plan another trip back there soon to explore some more!
