Guys, I don’t know about you but I’m feeling that Friday Feeling today (thank god!). It’s been a fun and exciting week starting off with a visit at work from one of my idols, Sophia Amoruso. For those of you who don’t know, Sophia started the online clothing store Nasty Gal and then wrote an AMAZING book about her success called “Girl Boss.” She was in town to promote her new coffee table book – which is beyond instagram friendly by the way. I was talking to her for quite a while and honestly she impressed me way more than I thought she would. Everything she said made so much sense, like that my generation of twenty something’s have a sense of entitlement and tend to forget that you need to put the time and the work in to climb the career chain, which is so true. I know so many people who maybe only have one year’s work experience behind them yet they feel that they should be CEO’s of their own company. And that’s not to knock anyone with ambition in anyway but personally I found this to be extremely eye opening because it made me think that if one day I am lucky enough to work for myself, I want my employees to know that I worked my way up from doing mundane jobs like invoices and getting coffee to running my own show! She also put emphasis on the importance of asking for what you want but being realistic about your expectations. My favorite piece of advice she had was to set goals for yourself, and remind yourself of those goals every day by using key words as passwords on your phone or laptop! Isn’t that just genius? Absolutely loved listening to her and to anyone who hasn’t read #GirlBoss, I highly recommend it!
Anyways, this weeks look is a little more casual than my usual outfit post. I’ve mentioned before that since starting my current job at Teen Vogue that I’ve been feeling a little more inspired to push the style boundaries! Usually when I go shopping I tend to buy basic staples that I can wear again and again with different outfits, but recently I find my eyes wandering towards the more statement pieces in the stores, like this silver mini from Zara (looking at these pics, I’m realising maybe it’s a LITTLE too mini, but that’s ok!) I have to say that I think this is one of my funnest outfit posts and I’m feeling more inspired than ever to start thinking a little outside the box, after all fashion is supposed to be fun right?

I’m looking forward to this weekend so much! Cathal’s family are visiting for a few days so we’re taking his nieces upstate tomorrow for a day of pumpkin picking. Also wanted to thank everyone who entered yesterdays book club competition too! So nice to see so many other book lovers out there!
