After a lovely few days of eating everything around me over Thanksgiving, I began my 6 Week Fitness Program at The PE Club. I’ve always been quite an active person and if you follow me on Snapchat (Michaelabear1), you’ll know that I’ve fallen in love with Pilates Reformer since moving to New York. As much as I love taking the pilates classes, I really wanted to try and build up some strength and endurance as I’m quite a weakling and having any ounce of extra energy in such a fast paced city is a huge advantage. Luckily two of my best girlfriends Erika and Niamh thought the same thing and I’m so grateful they’re on this journey with me!

Some of you might have seen on Instagram recently that I had a nice little Thanksgiving vacation in Boston. My Mom grew up there and thankfully I have some family to visit during the holidays so it really feels like a home away from home. It was my first Thanksgiving here in the States so it was a big novelty for me (as well as a huge shopping weekend).  We visited the Wrentham Premium Outlets the Wednesday before Thanksgiving where they actually started all of the Black Friday sales a few days early! I’m not kidding when I say I hunted down every single bargain and luckily found some gems.
One of my favourite things about living in New York is the endless amount of restaurants and cafes at your disposal, I have a list the size of my arm to get through. The Butchers Daughter was right at the top of that list. Located at 19 Kenmare Street in Nolita, this is the hotspot for bloggers, models and of course the health conscious Soul Cycle Instructors! The menu is packed with healthy yet delicious options along with a huge list of cold pressed juices which are a meal on their own!
Happy Monday Everyone! As much as I usually hate Mondays, I’m not complaining too much today as it’s a very short work week here in the States! This Thursday is Thanksgiving so Cathal and I are headed to Boston Tuesday night after work to spend the holiday with my relatives. I’m beyond excited for a little city escape and of course some home cooked meals. New York is starting to get extra sparkly with all of the Christmas lights starting to pop up, and honestly it’s become even more magical! I think I’ve always dreamed of being here for the holidays ever since I was a Home Alone lover at the tender age of 5! I spent this past weekend walking around Central Park as well as admiring all of the lights on 5th Ave and literally nothing could wipe the smile off of my face. It’s very easy to begin to take this city for granted after being here for a while but then every once in a while it hits me and I literally have to pinch myself at how freaking amazing this town really is!
