Following on from my Ladybear’s Travel Guides to New York last Summer, I wanted to start a new series here on the blog where I share my go to restaurants, shopping and general recommendations for any of you who are living here in the city or are planning a fun trip to visit. First up is one of the most well known Brunch places in Manhattan, Penelope. Located on 30th street and Lexington Avenue, they have one of the best “Prefix Brunches” in town. For just $19 dollar you can get a delicious cocktail or beer and chooses from a vast range of Brunch options! I personally went for the Nutella French Toast which literally is to die for, especially if you have a sweet tooth like me! Cathal had the Brunch Burger which is basically enough food on one plate to keep anyone happy for the day. I’ve also heard amazing things about their blueberry waffles and eggs benedict.
Happy Weekend Everyone! I’m excited for another fun weekend in the city! You might have seen on my snapchat (Michaelabear1), We started it off nicely yesterday with a bike ride across Brooklyn Bridge (still can’t feel my legs after it!) and some cocktails with friends last night! All of you back home in Ireland are probably just as excited as I am for the Conor McGregor fight tonight, even though MMA is totally not my thing, I am beyond obsessed and fascinated with the man so it should be entertaining!

Something about being in New York really does influence your style. Once you look past all of the tourists running around in their Levi’s and fanny packs, the real New Yorkers just ooze style. One thing I’ve noticed is their love of black. I know I’ve said it several times but it really does give you a polished appearance. This midi skirt is my new favourite wardrobe staple! Another great find in the Zara sale for just $30 and I know its a piece that will look equally as cute in Autumn or Winter with a nice sweater and chelsea boots!

I’m sitting here writing this post with a serious case of post vacation blues! You may have seen on Snapchat (Michaelabear1), this weekend to celebrate the Fourth of July, my friends and I headed up to the lake house in Connecticut. For the past two years, I’ve watched the fireworks from the city so it was extra special this year to escape the crowds and make the most of the peace and quiet. As much as I love the city, it really does make me appreciate being in the country side and being able to hear the birds chirp in the mornings!
