Happy first official day of Autumn everyone! I could not be more excited for my favorite season to kick off! I literally dream of Autumn in New York and in my opinion, it’s when the city is the most magical! I know that sounds cheesy but walking around Central Park when the leaves are golden and seeing people start to put pumpkins on their front porches really makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. The nice thing about living here compared to Ireland, is the distinct seasons we have. With each season comes new wardrobe choices and a whole new set of things to do here in the city! This is my bucket list for Autumn in New York and I can’t wait to bring you guys along.
Autumn to-do list
Sip on a cup of hot apple cider while browsing the Union Square Farmers Market.
Go to The Great Jack-O-Lantern Blaze (a huge festival with pumpkin designs.)
Rent bikes and cycle around Central Park when the leaves start to change. Finish the bike ride with a stop at Levain Bakery for a chocolate chip cookie!
Spend a day pumpkin picking. Last year’s day trip was without a doubt one of my 2015 highlights.
Walk around The West Village on Halloween to see all of the cute little rich kids trick or treating. People who live in the village tend to go all out with decorating the outside of their houses for Halloween and it’s my favorite thing in the world!
Spend a Sunday afternoon in Alice’s Tea Cup eating pumpkin scones and drinking fruity teas.
Get the Metro North train upstate to hike Bear Mountain. There’s some beautiful views from the train on the way up so it’s a nice way to see the Autumn foliage.
Go to The Gilmore Girls Festival at the end of October. I just LOVE The Gilmore Girls and for some reason Autumn always reminds me of it, and also You’ve got Mail and Runaway Bride! They’re quite Autumn-y too right? Anyways this festival looks like so much fun and I really hope I get the chance to go.
